Skin Resurfacing

The Edge One is a fractional CO₂ laser, which combines the precision of a surgical tool with the full capability of a high‑end aesthetic medical device. It is a medical laser FDA‑approved.

It emits successive, very fast micro‑beam laser photons at wavelength 10,600 nm, scanning a precise skin area and creating micropunctate thermal columns spaced at predetermined intervals.

Each column comprises a central ablation zone (vaporization) and a surrounding thermal zone (protein denaturation). With the advanced EdgePulse mode, the diffusion of the thermal zone is minimized, giving a higher safety margin and remarkably faster recovery for the patient, without the unpleasant “burnt skin” look typical of older CO₂ fractional lasers.

What it is ideal for
This laser is suitable for treating:
– Skin regeneration / remodeling
– Skin tightening (face)
– Wrinkles
– Acne scars
– Postoperative scars
– Diffuse hyperpigmentation / discolorations
– Enlarged pores
– Photoaging (sun damage)
– Stretch marks
– Hyperkeratoses
– Moles, papillomas, xanthelasmas (in some cases)

FAQs & Procedure Details

Is it done year-round?
For face and sun‑exposed skin, the treatment is considered safer from October through April. In body areas not exposed to sun, it may be done also during summer.

Is it painful?
An anesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment, making the sensation quite tolerable. A slight burning feeling may persist for a few hours after the session.

Recovery intensity
– First 1–2 days: mild redness.
– Days 3–4: small brown “dots” may appear, texture may feel rough and dry.
– Day 4–5: mild peeling may begin.
– After ~12 hours: light makeup may be applied.

Pre- and Post‑care
– Before: Avoid use (for ~1 week) of creams containing acids, retinol, vitamin A, glycolic or salicylic acid, or any exfoliating/irritating products. Ideally, have undergone a deep facial cleansing.
– After: For ~5–7 days, apply sunscreen (morning) and regenerative / moisturizing creams twice daily.

Possible side effects
Fractional CO₂ laser is generally safe. The most common side effects include:
– Redness (can last ~3 days)
– Dryness of skin for about a week
– Rare: localized hypo- or hyperpigmentation (treatable with creams, under surgeon’s guidance)

Areas of application
– Entire face and neck
– Localized scars or body stretch marks / lines
– Any body area where scars or skin texture issues are present
